On October 28th, Anika Hanisch interviewed long-time novelist and memoirist Laura Kalpakian who has recently published a new instructional work: Memory into Memoir: A Writer’s Handbook. The two women shared their insights into the memoir-writing process, drawing from their experience as writing instructors and as authors. Kalpakian is an award-winning novelist and now memoir-writer herself, and Hanisch has ghostwritten for and coached memoir-writers for decades. For any beginning memoirist, it was an intriguing conversation, full of generous tips and insights.
The Q&A portion of the event is now closed, but the event host, Country Bookshelf, has posted a recording on YouTube:
Kalpakian’s book is available locally at Country Bookshelf or anywhere else books are sold.
